I love reading blogs and was so excited to start my own. You know, a place to journal and remember the little things (and big) that are going on in our life. I suck at blogging. I have a true appreciation for all of you that keep up on this daily or even weekly. A lot is going on in life right now and I’m going to commit to doing better. Or Claire would say "Uh-oh." Once a week is my goal and I’ll take it from there.
The big news – we are expecting baby #2 on January 10th! I am currently 26 weeks and much like last time, this pregnancy has gone very smooth so far. I am just transitioning into my 3rd trimester and the heartburn, swollen feet, sore hips/pelvis are all creeping back from my memory. However, you will not hear me complain about being pregnant. Ever. It is a blessing that I do not take for granted and I feel fortunate that I have been able to experience this amazing journey not once, but now twice in my life. It’s truly a miracle. So stay tuned for pregnancy updates. Did I mention it’s a BOY!?!?!? It is and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Madison and I joke that we aren’t going to know what to do with a boy, but I guess we’ll figure it out!
Claire is a year and a half and will be 19 months on Monday. Eric and I have said at so many stages through her short life that we want to “freeze” her at this age. Well, a year and a half is no exception and this time I really mean it! It’s amazing and she is a blast. Yesterday on my way to drive her to daycare she said “bye” to every single car that either passed me or was going the other direction. The WHOLE way there. I bet she said “bye” 100 times in the 15 minute drive. And she waved to them all, it was awesome. She is a great eater and will now go stand next to the fridge and say “more” if she wants more berries, milk, cheese, etc. She loves helping mommy and daddy sweep the floor, pick up sticks in the yard, wipe things clean, throw stuff away, stir scrambled eggs, etc. She loves to read books and will bring book after book over to us and just plop down in our lap and expect that we read. How can we resist?
Madison started 6th grade a couple of months ago and just fit right in. I don’t think I’ve ever met a kid who just jumps right into new experiences and rolls with it as well. Maybe it’s because I wasn’t that easy going as a kid, but she has just adjusted so well to middle school. She was a little nervous about the locker, the new schedule, etc but that lasted just until she got there and it was all good. She is an incredible big sister and I absolutely love watching her interactions with Claire. Claire copies everything that Madison does. On Tuesday Eric played the guitar and Madison started dancing in the living room and right behind her joined Claire. If I tell Claire on the way home from daycare that sissy is at home, I hear “Issy” the rest of the way home and then I can’t get her out of the Jeep fast enough.
This was a very big picture overview of what the Miller house has been up to the last few months, but I commit to post updates at least weekly. It is Fall in Ohio, the leaves are perfect, the sun is out and it’s 72 degrees – life is good.
